A SHARD FROM AUSTRALIA – from a Correspondent

The shard was found in rocks on King Island, Bass Strait, Australia. I think it is from the wreck of 1875 “Blencathra”. It looks a bit like Spode’s Rhine pattern but I have already emailed Spode and they said it wasn’t theirs. I am excited because it shows at least three people in a boat, was found by the water’s edge – yet is so small a piece. Can anyone help?

[Editor’s Note: Ironically, perhaps, it looks to show 3 people (sailors?) in a (life?) boat. However, to me the shard looks earlier than the date given for the shipwreck. All comments would be welcome.]
